The Beach Plum Inn is a romantic hideaway perched above scenic Menemsha Harbor and surrounded by colorful gardens and lush pastures. With its picture-perfect ocean views and spectacular sunsets, the Beach Plum Inn is an enchanting setting for your relaxing getaway. Praised for its outstanding cuisine and panoramic sunset views, the Beach Plum Inn Restaurant provides a dining experience that tantalizes all the senses and is a favorite of island residents and visitors alike.
With eleven rooms located in the main house and surrounding cottages, the Inn offers comfortable, lovingly-decorated, peaceful accommodations. The Beach Plum began its life as a private home built from wood salvaged from shipwrecks caused by a vicious storm in 1898. In 1958, the property was converted into an Inn and quickly took its place as one of Martha’s Vineyard’s premiere destinations.
Located on 7 acres, the Inn is surrounded by beautiful flowering gardens and pastures where our alpacas and ponies reside. The patio is a delightful spot to relax with a gourmet breakfast from our restaurant and watch the Menemsha fleet head out to gather the daily catch. Our lower patio and lawn is an ideal spot to relax or play a round of croquet. The Hayloft building contains a rustic, relaxing common room where guests can gather to enjoy an afternoon snack or play a board game while reflecting on their day.
Menemsha Inn is a unique spot, where visitors who return every year mingle with those who never leave, all sharing the casual atmosphere of up-island life. And the Menemsha Inn resides at the center of it all.
Our vibrant gardens, breathtaking ocean views and bucolic up-island charm are the reasons the Beach Plum Inn is Martha’s Vineyard’s premiere wedding location. You guest will marvel at breathtaking views while enjoying our delectable cuisine prepared and presented by our outstanding staff. The Inn is an unparalleled location to begin your life together.
Come and see what makes the Beach Plum Inn special and you’ll see why our guests return year after year to this island treasure.
