Children are welcome at the Beach Plum Inn. While we request that children not stay in the rooms upstairs in the main house, we have some wonderful Accommodations for small families or groups travelling together. (Click on room name for picture and further information) For families with only one child, you may wish to stay in our Astilbe Room on the first floor wing of our main house. It has both a queen size bed and twin bed. This room is open during all seasons and is also handicap accessible. For others, the Garden Cottage works very well. The Hydrangea Room of this cottage and the Forsythia Room have an adjoining door which you can choose to keep open or closed. The Forsythia Room has a queen size bed. The Hydrangea Room has either a king size bed or two twins. Another option is our Terrace Cottage which contains the Hosta Room and the Cosmos Room. They do not have an adjoining door, but do share a screened porch area. The Cosmos Room has a king bed and room for a cot, while the Hosta Room has a queen bed and room for a cot as well (although it is a tight fit). Finally, our Bridal Wreath Cottage has both a king size bed and a pull out sleeper sofa. There is no room for an additional cot. Please be advised that we prefer not to put cots in any rooms as it makes the room much less spacious, but will if necessary. There is a $25 cot fee. Have fun! The Vineyard is a wonderful place for children and adults alike. While you are here, we'll be happy to give you suggestions of children's or adult activities on the island.
